In 2000 we made the switch from a commercial Angus cross herd to a purebred Black Angus herd and began buying our seed stock from the Northern Highlights Sale as well as such established breeders as Gumbo Gulch, Remitall, and Peak Dot. As a result of these purchases, we have been able to take advantage of the years of careful breeding and genetic selection that some of the country’s premier breeders have worked so hard to create. These females and their offspring now form the heart of our purebred herd.

Our bull genetics come from the offspring of the legendary TC Stockman 2164, MVBL Asset, Benchmark 007, TC Freedom 104, MVF Triumph 13L, Gumbo Gulch Wham 32L, SAV 004 Predominant 4438 and Stevenson Bruno 6371. We have followed this example and have carefully selected our bulls to ensure calving ease, excellent maternal traits, high gain and top quality carcasses.

Our goal is to raise quality livestock that will thrive and breed in even the most demanding environments. We sell only the very best of our breeding stock – the bulls must be easy fleshing, have good feet, excellent scrotal measurements and superior carcass numbers. Our cows must be easy keeping with good feet and udders, performance and fertility and a good disposition. Our cows spend the summer on bush pasture and are expected to bring home and wean a calf that is a minimum of 45% of the dam’s weight. Cows that cannot meet these demanding expectations do not stay in our herd.
